If the stoma colostomy is very active after the last meal of the day, try having that meal fairly early in the evening, so that the stoma quietens down after midnight.

Wrap a single sheet over the main sheet at a 90 degree angle. Slip in a protector between the two sheets. (I'm unsure of their name, but they are disposable waterproof pads, made for incontinence). Then all you have to do for middle-of-the-night changes is to whip off the top sheet and throw away the pad, instead of changing the entire bed.
