Jason - aka JasonD on this Wiki - aka TrekkieMonster on the Ostomyland message board - aka Coolthud elsewhere on the net - is the founder, owner and webmaster of the Living With A Colostomy (www.ostomysupport.info) and Ostomyland (www.ostomyland.com) websites.

At the time of writing (July 2006) he is a 31 year old Colostomist living in the West Yorkshire area of England/UK.

Ostomy Details

His colostomy was originally formed in 1997 via Keyhole Surgery using the Hartmann's Procedure. It was meant to be just a temporary colostomy to let his rectum rest so that the bowel disease could itself calm down. As it happened it didnt work like that, the disease got worse and eventually in 2002 the rectum was Removed at St Marks Hospital, London.

During the stay in hospital for that rectum removal op he contracted MRSA which ate away at the read wound and inside, and caused irrepairable nerve damage leaving him in pain 24/7 and needing to live on Opiates to get through it. He currently sees a Pain Management Specialist to help ease the pain and has very bad depression when the pain is bad.

Interests & Hobbies

A big fan of the internet, and console & PC Gaming, when he's not online (which isnt often) you can find him reading books, watching movies, or looking after his dog, a Westie named Lucy.
