Can you help? I need a Ileo Stoma pic (for printing)

Hi there everyone,

As you may know I’m in the process of getting the lifestyle guide on the main site printed, and I’m giving the “What does a Stoma look like” section a bit of a revamp, including pictures of my own colostomy stoma, and other peoples colostomy stomas. However, I’m also wanting to include a photo of a Urostomy stoma and Ileostomy stoma. I’ve got the Uro one, but I’m still needing an Ileostomy one.

If you think your ileo stoma looks pretty much like a text book stoma (ie how the average stoma looks, and has no problems with it etc) and would like to send your photo through for submission please send the photo to me – webmaster at ostomyland dot com – most importantly please include if you want your name associated with the photo, and also the size of the stoma (width, height and how much it protrudes).

I’ve only got room for one ileo photo at the moment, so if more than one is sent then I’ll pick the best based on how it appears in greyscale etc and if space allows i’ll include some more (if they are sent).

If you can help at all please let me know as I’ll be in a bind without one!

Lifestyle Guide Printed Book Preview Video

The lifestyle guide pages of Ostomyland is finally being printed into book format, initially being available for purchase direct from the Oland website, and ultimately available from book shops all over the world, including Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.

Yesterday, the print preview copy of the book arrived, and apart from it needing one or two changes in it’s cover design, and a few edits for typos the book is ready to go.

Here is a video of the preview copy I received yesterday to show you the book (click on Read Rest link for the video and photos). The quality of the print and the paper is excellent, and the cover is shiny and wipe clean and of course features our very own Fuzzbutt as the cover star – rather her than me! lol

Ostomyland June 2010 Newsletter Mailed Out

Ostomyland featured in Charter #35 – Spring 2010

Coloplast UK has just mailed out issue number 35 of its stoma care journal, Charter. A quarterly publication sent to all Coloplast mailing list subscribers, the 16 page magazine is well respected in the ostomy world for it’s no-nonsense approach to all ostomy related subjects, and for being more medically focused than a lot of the various ostomy magazines sent out by other companies and associations.

Ostomistics Radio Show

The Ostomistics is a Peterborough (UK) based ostomy support group. Yesterday (Sunday) they were given an opportunity to broadcast their own radio show for an hour on local radio station Peterborough FM. With a mix of music, chat and ostomy related matters, the show has surely taken a huge step forward towards achieving it’s goal of raising awareness in the community of ostomies, and to set the record straight over various ostomy myths.

Revisions to lifestyle guide download

The “Living with a Colostomy” lifestyle guide forms the main brunt of the information we have available on Ostomyland. The 20-odd chapter guide has always been available in a full pdf download, and Im pleased to announce that version 3 of the downloadable guide is now available.

In this latest update:

Updated information about travel – information about the new European schemes for health related insurance whilst travelling
Fuzzbutt’s Top Tips – Our furry mascot Fuzzbutt has squeezed her way into the guide, scattering many of her favourite top tips within the pages of the guide. Keep an eye out for the “Fuzzbutt Top Tips” box outs throughout the downloadable guide!
