The June 2010 edition of the Ostomyland newsletter is now available online and it covers the biggest Oland community news stories in the last two months.
Our newsletter is sent out to all members of the message board who have visited the site in the last six months and have the option to receive admin emails checked in their notification preferences.

Ostomyland featured in Charter #35 – Spring 2010
Coloplast UK has just mailed out issue number 35 of its stoma care journal, Charter. A quarterly publication sent to all Coloplast mailing list subscribers, the 16 page magazine is well respected in the ostomy world for it’s no-nonsense approach to all ostomy related subjects, and for being more medically focused than a lot of the various ostomy magazines sent out by other companies and associations.

C&S Ostomy Pouch Covers is a Florida-USA based company specialising in custom made ostomy pouch covers, and now they have their own page in Ostomyland’s Manufacturers: Ostomy Products – Underwear, Accessories etc section.

Good news about Cohesive Seals
Some UK ostomates may have heard from their home delivery firms that Cohesive Seals are no longer available. Regardless of this news Pelican Healthcare wish to make it known that Cohesive Seals are still available, and they have ample stocks available to supply. So, you do not need to change your prescription for any other equivalent product, unless you specifically wish to do so.
In a newsletter posted out to Pelican customers, Paul Eakin – Managing Director said: “Cohesive is manufactured by T.G. Eakin Limited, a sister company to Pelican Healthcare in the Eakin Group. The change of distribution to one of our own companies represents a kind of coming home for Cohesive and everyone at Pelican is very excited about making the product available to you.”
From May 1st there will be a slight change in the packaging of Cohesive Seals as well. These are purely aesthetic changes to the packaging only and the product is exactly the same as before.

Ostomistics Radio Show
The Ostomistics is a Peterborough (UK) based ostomy support group. Yesterday (Sunday) they were given an opportunity to broadcast their own radio show for an hour on local radio station Peterborough FM. With a mix of music, chat and ostomy related matters, the show has surely taken a huge step forward towards achieving it’s goal of raising awareness in the community of ostomies, and to set the record straight over various ostomy myths.
If you missed the show, or weren’t within range of the Peterborough FM transmission, never fear because thanks to the wonders of live internet-based radio streams we’ve been able to record the show (with permission) and are sharing it with our readers.

The “Living with a Colostomy” lifestyle guide forms the main brunt of the information we have available on Ostomyland. The 20-odd chapter guide has always been available in a full pdf download, and Im pleased to announce that version 3 of the downloadable guide is now available.
