At first this may seem a bizarre story to have within Ostomyland but it will become clear in a little while. Promise.
MEP’s (Members of the European Parliment) will soon be voting on the issue of the use of airport scanners which allow viewers to see the person scanned totally naked, the BBC has reported. Not only will the scanners show people naked but it will allow the viewers to also see any body surgery features the scanned subject may have had, such as breast implants and, of course, ostomy bags, along with any drugs and guns which may be stashed in their undies.
Scanned images will allegedly not be recorded under normal circumstances but no doubt it will cause a lot of unease amongst the body shy (me), or those who just do not wish to have their dignity infringed upon. Goodness me, I did not realise that this was in the works and I certainly don’t want my flabby bits on display to people but I have to ask myself if this would stop me travelling and with family so far away from me i have no choice but to travel if I want to see them so I think it wont stop me travelling but I’ll be blushing when i go through the scanners.

WOW!! I am all for airport security too but this is a bit much! I recently flew to Florida and while going through security @ Newark I got patted down and was asked in a snotty tone what I was hiding. I had explained to the gal about my bag. She then asked what I was hiding in it. I told her I never thought I could hide anything but #2 in it and that if she wanted I would gladly dump whats in it out and she could do with it as she pleased. I think she was kinda revolted. She just patted it down and told me to move on. Normally I am not shy but when it comes to my bag I am a little stand off ish…I guess now that I think of it you can stuff some drugs or something in there but how gross!!!!
