Ostomy Website Searches for Model Ostomates!

Ostomylifestyle.org is searching for an Ostomate who would like to model for their promotional material. If you are interested, drop them a line at the email address featured in their press release below.

Be a model for Ostomy Lifestyle

Are you proud of your stoma surgery? Are you an example of Positive Living?

You could be a positive influence for others and make an impact by helping us to promote images of happy, healthy people who are confident and above all aren’t afraid to talk about their stomas and show off their experiences to the world.

We want your positive images to include in leaflets, information sheets and our website, as well as finding candidates for more exciting projects.

If we invite you to take part in further projects you will also receive:

- Professional photo shoot
- Professional make up & hair styling
- Professional styling advice
- Lots of other goodies!

We’re looking forward to hearing from you, send us some photos of yourself getting on with your life and state what other sorts of modeling you would like to be considered for (e.g. sport, fashion, medical information etc) to models@ostomylifestyle.org

“Fingers crossed” for a prosperous community

If you’ve been a regular visitor to the Ostomyland forums lately, you may have read or posted on a Irrigation thread called “Fingers Crossed”.  Due to the enourmous growth in the number of posts this thread was making, and the fact it was all but a community in it’s own right, the decision has been made to seperate it away from the ostomyland website resources, and instead given it’s own forum where it can continue to grow and prosper without impedement of our own restrictive shared hosting resources.

If you want to visit the Fingers Crossed irrigation forums please pop on over to:
http://www.fingerscrossedonline.proboards.com/

I wish the forum all the best and am just sorry that I’ve not been able to afford dedicated hosting so as to be able to keep that forum part of Ostomyland.

New site content

New Site Content: Just added link/feature for a new Colostomate-blog.
Colostomy – My Journey
is a personal blog featuring many photographs which follows a colostomate’s journey from unexpected stoma and colostomy, to a reversal in the very near future. The site features what some may feel are “graphic” images, and the commentary pulls no punches in the description of personal states of mind and feelings etc.  Sometimes life with a colostomy is not easy, the manufacturers literature can often make you feel like an outcast if you are also suffering problems with your stoma, be it physical or emotional, and it is nice to see a site that dares to face up to facts of life with a Colostomy when you were never expecting it in the first place so had no time to adjust to the changes of lifestyle.
